The panel antenna connects to the reader and can be placed in scales, drive aisles and the like. The information in the ear tag is read when the animal passes the antenna, so you do not have to be ready to read each individual animal’s ear tag. If the panel antenna is to be used with box scales, the antenna should be placed in the drive aisle towards the scale, not inside the scale itself. The maximum reading distance to the ear tag is approx. 45 cm, provided that the antenna is not in direct contact with steel, which reduces the reading distance considerably.
